Lighthouse at Low Tide Watercolor
This Lighthouse Watercolor tutorial I followed uses a sea sponge to create the water, sky and slope effects.
First I started with outlining the lighthouse landscape. The outline can be downloaded for free here: Lighthouse Outline.
I also decided to create a border around the pattern by applying painters tape.
I used Princeton Heritage series size 2 and size 6 brushes, and a sea sponge.
It was painted in 4 steps, using these 5 paint colors:
- Yellow Ochre
- Azure Blue
- Orchid
- Black
- Emerald Green
You can do this too! It doesn’t cost anything to follow the Let’s Make Art with Sarah Cray videos if you already have some watercolor supplies. I also have a link to their website in the left sidebar.
Just click here to get $5.00 off your first kit if interested in getting monthly kits delivered to your door. I’m signed up for their monthly subscription box which comes with the supplies needed (paint, paper, outline, graphite paper, instructions) for 4 watercolor projects.
