Panda Bear Watercolor Painting
It’s challenging in watercolors to create a shape of a panda bear when painting something black and white on white paper without using black paint! This tutorial used a variety of 3 colors to achieve it.
The Subscription Box
Each month a box arrives from Let’s Make Art with the supplies to complete 4 projects. The boxes are sturdy and adorable and I store completed watercolor paintings, paints and other supplies in them after completing the projects.
The boxes come with 4 or 5 paint colors and often includes a bonus item.
Panda Bear ? Watercolor Tutorial
The Panda Bear project comes with these supplies:
- 2 pieces of watercolor paper
- Step by step written instructions
- Carbon paper
- Completed project photo
- Outline for tracing
Here’s the free downloadable Panda Bear outline.
It was painted with these 3 colors:
- Berry Blue
- Magenta
- Honey Brown
The black was created by mixing the 3 colors together.
The May subscription box came with a fan brush as a bonus item. I used it to make the small fur marks around the face and ears, with large fan brush strokes on the body.
I followed the tutorial with adding the drips to the body and I loved how it turned out! She also suggested using sea salt by sprinkling the salt on the paint while still wet. However, I like it better without the salt.
What should I name him or her?
