Cowboy Boots and Floral Watercolor
The lesson of the Cowboy Boots Watercolor tutorial for me was to improve my blending skills recreating the look of suede.
The Subscription Box
Each month a box arrives from Let’s Make Art with the supplies to complete 4 projects. I think the boxes are adorable and I store completed watercolor paintings, paints and other supplies in them after completing the projects.
This is April’s subscription box. It contains 4 different projects:
It also came with the 5 liquid watercolor paints that will be needed for all 4 kits. April’s special item was a micron archival black pen.
Cowboy Boots Watercolor Tutorial
The Cowboy Boots project supplies:
- 2 pieces of watercolor paper
- Step by step written instructions
- Carbon paper
- Completed project photo
- Outline for tracing
Here’s the free downloadable Cowboy Boots outline.
The black micron pen wasn’t used in this Cowboy Boots watercolor tutorial but I could have used it to outline some of the florals. I might go back later and add it.
The stitching was done with a dark brown mixture.
I have a tendency to over work things and I think I added too many florals. But leaves are so much fun to paint!
Using the same paints supplied in the April subscription box, I’ve also painted the Carrots project. You can see it here: Colorful Carrots Watercolor.
I also completed the Duck project, you can see him here: All Ducked Up.
