This time the focus was learning how to create a divided gradient wash background and improving fine lines.

I wasn’t thrilled with how my gradient background turned out with the cheap brush I had on hand. Talk about weak pinks! So I later bought a Princeton size 10 tapered brush and I’m really happy I did. If I do this one again, I will also reduce the amount of space between the 3 images. I love the little birds and the way one of the phone lines droop below the others.

Check out another watercolor that has a colorful background and black foreground, and has a taped designs to add interest: Diamond Night Sky.

Here’s the Let’s Make Art with Sarah Cray video I followed. I also have a link to their website in the left sidebar. I’m signed up for their monthly subscription boxes and if you’re interested in getting monthly kits delivered to your door, please leave your questions in the comments below.
